Paper Chain DIY Photo Backdrop
If there’s anything I love it’s creating my own colorful photo backdrops to create unique imagery. So when I came across this paper chain backdrop on Pinterest I knew I had to create my own! It’s colorful, graphic and very easy to make - the perfect DIY. I took me about 8 hours in total and lots of nerves. From broken paper cutters to hot glue on my hands, this one was full of little hick-ups. Still, I simply LOVE how the final imagery turned out. Let’s step into the DIY process!
The DIY
You only need a few things to create your own paper chain backdrop plus a little patience.
a paper cutter (A4)
hot glue
paper in different colors
Simply cut out lots of different paper strips in different colors and glue them together evenly. Some people use a specific pattern to create their photo backdrops, I combined the different colors as I liked and it turned out great! You can definitely go your own way here. When it came to choosing the colors I went for colors that already appeared in the dress I wanted to wear for the photoshoot to create a consistent look.

The photoshoot
For the photoshoot I knew I wanted a very bright, clear look. I went for a continuous light with a silver beauty dish to create a really crisp image look. The yellow backdrop underlines the paper chain backdrop perfectly - and so did my thrifted dress for the shoot! I love how it all came together.
